“Alif, Lām, Meem. This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah.” Chapter 2, Al Baqarah, verses 1-2.
Since Allah, the Exalted, has made it clear at the very beginning of the Holy Quran (according to the written order of the Holy Quran) that only the righteous will be guided by it a Muslim must therefore strive to become righteous. This is only possible through sincere obedience to Allah, the Exalted, by fulfilling His commands, refraining from His prohibitions and by facing destiny with patience, according to the traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Chapter 3 Alee Imran, verse 31:
“Say, [O Muḥammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins…”
The righteous fear disobeying Allah, the Exalted, to such an extent that they avoid lawful things as they fear it might lead them towards the unlawful. This has been confirmed in a Hadith found in Jami At Tirmidhi, number 2451.
On the Day of Judgment every lineage and bond will be broken except the bond of righteousness. Only the righteous will be guided to the mercy of Allah, the Exalted, in the hereafter just as they were rightly guided during their lives on Earth. Chapter 43 Az Zukhruf, verse 67:
“Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous.”
When a muslim acts on the teachings of Holy Quran according to the traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, they will be guided by the Holy Quran to obtain success in both this world and the next.
