“How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.” Chapter 2 Al Baqarah, verse 28.
This verse reminds muslims that Allah, the Exalted, is their Creator, Sustainer and the only One who has decided the things which occur in their life. As He created the beginning and the end for everything meaning, life, death and the resurrection He therefore decides everything which occurs in between and after these stages. So a muslim must understand that they will only gain the things they desire from Allah, the Exalted. This will only be achieved through sincere obedience to Him by fulfilling His commands, avoiding His prohibitions and being patient with His choices. A muslim should not be fooled into believing success lies anywhere else. Countless people have tried to achieve success through the disobedience of Allah, the Exalted, and whatever they gained eventually became a burden and curse for them, let alone the punishment which is awaiting them in the next world. This is quite obvious when one ponders over the many cases of this in history and the present time. Simply put, whoever obeys Allah, the Exalted, while striving in worldly and religious matters will obtain success in both.
In addition, when Allah, the Exalted, granted life He also granted countless blessings with it. So a muslim must use these blessings correctly according to the commands of the One who granted them before they encounter death and are unable to benefit themself in either this world or the next.
The final thing to remember is that no matter which path a person chooses namely, obedience or disobedience to Allah, the Exalted, all will return to Him and be held accountable for their actions. This thought deeply engraved in a muslim’s mind can be enough to encourage them to use their blessings correctly before they are permanently cut off from them.
