The next divine name is An Nur, which means the Light. Allah, the Exalted, is the one who draws all things from the darkness of non-existence to the light of being. He sheds light on all good and bad things for His servants so that they can be rightly guided to the abode of peace in the hereafter. He is the One who enlightens the Heavens and the Earth and everything within it. Chapter 24 An Nur, verse 35:
“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp; the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills…”
The muslim who understands this divine name will act on the advice and commands of Allah, the Exalted, as they shed light on the truth and guide eople, to eternal success.
A muslim must act on this divine name by avoiding those actions which encompasses their spiritual heart with darkness namely, sins. Instead they must perform those actions which enlighten their spiritual heart and provide them a guiding light in both worlds. This has been indicated in a Hadith found in Jami At Tirmidhi, number 3334.
